The Directors of the Eddie Aikau Foundation and the Aikau Family would like to congratulate the 25 Students who have been selected as winners of the 2023 Eddie Would Go Essay Contest.
This year we had a total of 358 essays submitted for judging. Included in that total were 36 Essays in the Hawaiian language. Essays came from students in 20 different schools, public, private & charter. Of the 20 schools, 10 of them were on Maui, Big Island and one school on Molokai.
We'd also like to thank over 70 volunteers who donated their time to the difficult task of selecting the winning essays from so many excellent submissions. We'd like to express our sincere appreciation to every student who participated and the parents and teachers who supported & encouraged their efforts. We hope that all of you enjoyed learning about Eddie Aikau and that you may find inspiration from his legacy of aloha.
